“Melanin Matters” project week on the significance of skin tones in Lagos, Nigeria: Conception, organization and moderation of events at the Goethe-Institut in Lagos, Nigeria. The project week included a one-day conference, a Photography workshop, a panel discussion, a film screening and a workshop for women. The project week was a collaboration between the Goethe-Institut Lagos, the Nlele Institute for Photography (Lagos) and the SFB1482 Human Differentiation <\/td><\/tr>

Marion Grimberg is a doctoral candidate in social and cultural anthropology and part of the \u2018CRC1482 Studies in Human Differentiation\u2019. Her focus lays on practices of human differentiation, body modification, race, and medical anthropology. She studied social and cultural anthropology at the Freie Universit\u00e4t Berlin after completing a bachelor's degree in business administration at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. She wrote her master's thesis in medical anthropology on living with gluten-related disorders in and around Paris. Since 2021, she has been conducting research on the meanings and values associated to skin tone in Nigeria and Germany. Extended research stays have taken her to Paris, various German cities, and Lagos, Nigeria. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
