The 19th Afrikanistentag and the
biennial conference of the VAD "Continuities, Dislocations and Transformations: Reflections on
50 Years of African Independence" are held conjointly in Mainz in April
2010.

General Information
The "19. Afrikanistentag" will be held from 08.-10. April 2010 in Mainz, Germany.
There is no overall theme for the conference.
Papers should focus on African languages, dealing with any of the
various aspects of their manifestation and representation.
Each presentation should not exceed 20
minutes, 10 minutes are destined to discussion.
The conference fee is 60 € (students 20 €). Mode
of payment will be announced in November 2009.

We regret that there is no conference budget for
travel and hotel expenses. You will have to cover your own travel and
accomodation costs. Accomodation has to be booked individually. But on
the website of the "Touristik
Centrale Mainz" a contingent of reserved rooms in Mainz is provided.
